Over 60 women came forward with accusations spanning decades, dissolving Cosby’s family-friendly image. Now, he’s more like a negative symbol of the #MeToo movement.

2. Garth Brooks

Country music star Garth Brooks faced allegations of emotional abuse from his first wife, Sandy Mahl. She claimed he was controlling and manipulative during their marriage. 

While not accused of physical violence, the reports of emotional mistreatment surprised many fans who viewed Brooks as a wholesome figure. Many of his lyrics make him seem like a sweet romantic, so these allegations shocked people.

3. Woody Allen

Filmmaker Woody Allen has long been accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow when she was a child. Allen has denied the allegations, but the controversy has persisted for decades. 

The accusations have divided Hollywood and the public, given Allen’s status as a respected director. Today, we all know that Allen is dangerous, but for decades of his career, people thought he was just a quirky and talented artist.

4. Danny Masterson

That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson was convicted in 2023 of raping two women in the early 2000s. The allegations shocked fans of the popular sitcom. Masterson’s conviction led to a 30-year prison sentence, marking a stark contrast to his previously clean-cut image. 

The sitcom is nostalgic for many, and Masterson is not the only actor on that show who has since surprised people with their harmful actions.

5. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs

Music mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs faced multiple sexual assault allegations in 2023. His former girlfriend, singer Cassie, accused him of rape and physical abuse over a decade. Combs denied the allegations but quickly settled the lawsuit, raising questions about his behavior. 

This is all coming out now and many didn’t realize how abusive Diddy is. One video of him beating his former girlfriend, Cassie, has astounded people who have watched his career for decades.

6. Louis C.K.

Comedian Louis C.K. admitted to sexual misconduct in 2017 after multiple women accused him of inappropriate behavior. His actions included masturbating in front of female colleagues without consent. 

The revelations were particularly shocking given C.K.’s reputation for addressing social issues in his comedy. He always had a kind demeanor, so this violating behavior seemed to come out of nowhere, showcasing how the public truly doesn’t know who these celebrities really are.

7. Jeffrey Tambor

Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor left the show after facing sexual harassment allegations from multiple women, including transgender cast members. Tambor denied some accusations but admitted to being “mean” on set. 

The allegations were surprising given the show’s progressive themes. Even if the allegations are not true, it seems that his attitude toward women is negative and harmful in the workplace.

8. Nick Carter

Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter faced multiple sexual assault allegations, including a 2017 accusation by singer Melissa Schuman. Carter denied the allegations, but they broke the boyband heartthrob image he had cultivated since the 1990s. 

For many, Backstreet Boys was a part of childhood and teen hood, so discovering that Carter is not as charming as he seems is a major let-down.

9. John Lasseter

Pixar co-founder John Lasseter left Disney after allegations of sexual misconduct, including unwanted hugging and touching. He had a hand in creating beloved classics like Toy Story, Cars, A Bug’s Life, and many more. 

His behavior shocked many given Pixar’s family-friendly reputation and Lasseter’s role in creating beloved animated films. Again, it shows how you never know who these people are when the cameras aren’t on.

10. Vin Diesel

Action star Vin Diesel was accused of sexual battery by his former assistant in 2023. The lawsuit alleges he groped and acted inappropriately towards her in 2010. Diesel’s team denied the allegations, but they surprised fans who knew him primarily from his tough-guy movie roles. 

While he always plays hardcore characters, they usually have a soft side, and that’s the personality people came to associate with the actor, and these allegations shattered that illusion.
